We believe:
1. that there is only one living God. He reveals Himself as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (2 Corinthians 13:14)
2. that the Bible was written by men divinely inspired, and is the record of God’s revelation of Himself to man. (2 Timothy 3:16,17)
3. that man has fallen through sin from his original innocence as created by God, and that only God’s grace can bring man back into fellowship with Him. (Romans 5:12)
4. that God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin Mary, partaking of the nature of both God and man but without sin, to redeem mankind from his fallen state through His death and spilled blood on the Cross, in which He took all the sin of the world on Himself and paid the penalty. His resurrection from the dead and Ascension to the Father completed that redemption. (John 3:16, Romans 5:8)
5. that salvation comes through faith in Christ and His finished
work on the Cross, a free gift rather than a reward for an effort or
work. (Ephesians 2:8, 1 John 1:9)
6. that believers are to be baptized by full immersion in water and in
the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, as a symbolic testimony to
their experience of the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord.
(Matthew 28:19)
7. that believers are to partake of the Lord’s Supper as a reminder of
Christ’s sacrifice of His body and blood, and His indwelling in us (The Holy
Spirit): the Holy Communion. (1 Corinthians 11:24,25)
8. in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the gifts of the Spirit operating
in the Church including speaking in tongues and physical healing and the power
of the Spirit maintaining the believer in the daily walk of faith. (Acts 2:4,
Ephesians 4:30-32, 1 Corinthians 12:1-11, Galatians 5:22)
9. that Satan is real and exists to attack the saints and the
Church as the father of lies, and that we resist him through the truth of the
scriptures as Christ did, and the certain knowledge that the adversary and
“accuser of the brethren” was defeated at the Cross. (Colossians.
2:15)
10. that Christ will return personally and visibly at the end of time to
bring the world to its appropriate end. The unrighteous will be consigned to
hell, a place of everlasting torment, and believers will dwell forever in
heaven with the Lord. (1 Thessalonians 4:16,17, John 14:1-3, Revelation
7:15-17)
11. in the institution of marriage where one man marries one woman in a
monogamy relationship. (Genesis 2:18, 21-24; Matthew 19:3-9, Mark 10:6-9)
12. in the christening and dedication of children to God, and to bring
them up in the way of the Lord. (Matthew 19:13-15, Proverbs 22:6)
13. that the method ordained of God for the support and growth of His
cause is by the giving of tithes and free-will offerings. (2 Corinthians 9:7,
Malachi 3:10)
14. that soul-winning is the most important responsibility of the Church.
(James 5:20)
