Evangelism

Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers; are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”  Matthew 9:35-38

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,..." Matthew 28:19

Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.  2 Corinthians 5:20

Evangelism is a task for all of us

From the scriptures above, we understand that all believers have been given a command to go and make disciples of all nations. We are ambassadors for Christ, with the task of reconciling man back to God.

Evangelism Preparation and Tips

Before you go on evangelism:
1.  Pray and surrender yourselves as labourers in God's vineyard.
2. Soak yourselves, the anointing oil, the tracks and everything you are taking with the blood of Jesus Christ.
3. Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you and lead you to those who are ripe for the gospel. (
Matthew 9:35-38)
4. Pray that He would use you and speak through you to the people. Ask for the Spirit of boldness to speak, as if God were pleading to them through you. (2 Corinthians 5.20)
5. Ask God to send His ministering angels out with you and confirm His word through accompanying signs and wonders. (Mark 16.20)
6. Go in groups. (Mark 6.7)
7. Go during the day for safety reasons.

 Tips:

1. Be friendly (smile).
2. Preach Jesus Christ.
3. Don't enter into any debate or argument.
4. Always preach in love (not rude or confrontational).
5. Don't condemn or judge.
6. Always pray for them before leaving them.
7. Pray the repentance prayer with them if allowed.

Remember: You are not going in your strength or power. You are going in the authority given to you by Christ Jesus.

And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits; Mark 6.7
